HADAU began in 2024
Keynote speaker Ted Turnau, who travelled all the way from Prague, spoke to us about cultural engagement, faith, and the imagination, inspired by his book ‘Imagination Manifesto’.
EXHIBITION 2024 THEME
SEEDS
"HADAU" is the Welsh word for "seeds."
This inspired the theme for our first exhibition and conference in 2024 and, ultimately, the name.
“Because Art speaks to our souls. It soothes our grief and surprises us with joy. It whispers God’s voice and stirs our imagination. It both meets us in our seeking and challenges us with questions. And it starts conversations. HADAU became the name of the exhibition and conference because we wanted to sow seeds of ideas and start conversations.”

HADAU continues in 2025
Guest speakers Cass Meurig, Becca Nunes, Nathan Mundy, Christine Jones & Ann Brown share a wealth of advice from a variety of art forms through interactive forums and discussions.

Is It Finished?
The theme sparked art pieces that looked at notions of home, belonging, loss, ranging from personal reflections to global perspectives.
“The speakers and artists this year wrestled with the theme in such unique and diverse ways; it gave hope to those weary of striving for more, and yet provoked the parts of us that settle for less, which was especially true regarding thoughts about the environment.”

2026 opens with new events
Dai Woolridge and the team at Urban Wordsmiths join us to launch the year's conference with an extra evening of poetry and networking!

Holding the Future
Artists explored a whole range of different perspectives: hopeful, apocalyptic, prophetic, scientific... What kind of future do you envisage for this planet? Or for your own life? How might we hold on to, or let go of, alternative futures?
