  • This exhibition is one part of HADAU 2026, a Welsh Arts Festival celebrating creativity and faith in Wales.

Hadau (translating as Seeds in English) takes place at Urban Crofters’ Church in Roath, Cardiff, in partnership with Morphé Arts Cymru.

You are invited to submit work for inclusion in the exhibition.

Our theme is "Holding the Future."

We are interested in artwork that explores the future; hopeful, apocalyptic, prophetic or scientific. Themes could include environmental or cultural issues. These works can reflect how you feel, they can be a commentary on our current trajectory or your dreams and ideas for better ways of being.

Physical work can be any size, 3D or 2D. It can be for exhibiting inside or outside the building. We will have two screens to show performance or screen based work. We are open to all suggestions and you are welcome to meet us in the space to discuss possibilities.

  • This is an opportunity for creatives to contribute to creating a stimulating and thought provoking exhibition in the Urban Crofters building from March 7th to May 15th 2026.

The exhibition will be widely publicised. It will have an opening celebration and an audience of approximately 500 a week over the ten weeks.

  • Anyone living in Wales or who has a strong connection to Wales is welcome to submit work.

There will be a selection process to curate an exhibition that will both work in the space, and stimulate conversations with the audience.

    The curators will be:

    • Prue Thimbleby, artist working in Arts & Health and member of council at Arts Council Wales

    • Lois Adams, community artist working for Cwmpawd (www.cwmpawd.org) and co-founder of Morphe Cymru

  • Urban Crofters is a building on Crofts Street in Roath, Cardiff.
The space is home to Urban Crofters Church, Ground Up Café and the West Wall Gallery.

  • There will be a day of workshops and conversations for artists culminating in an exhibition opening celebration on Saturday 7th March.

The exhibition will be open Monday – Friday 9am – 4pm in conjunction with Ground Up Café (www.urbancrofters.co.uk/groundup ) and every Sunday morning in conjunction with Urban Crofters Church Sunday gatherings.

The exhibition will close on Friday 15th of May at 12pm.

  • Expression of interest

If you are interested in submitting work for this exhibition (maximum of 3 pieces) please let the curators know by completing the expression of interest form, available on this webpage, just below.

Closing date: Monday 5th of January at midnight.

Once we receive your expression of interest we will share it with the selection panel and either ask more questions or invite you to submit work. This will be a very quick turn around.

    Submitting work

We will endeavour to exhibit all work that we have invited to submit but it is not 100% guaranteed. We reserve the right not to exhibit work that is unsuitable for the space for whatever reason. We will keep in touch with you and be available to answer any questions during the making period.

Please note: We have public liability insurance and CCTV and we will take care of your work but we do not have specific artwork insurance so artwork is exhibited at the artists own risk.

    Delivering the work

Work must be delivered to Urban Crofters in Crofts Street, Cardiff on Sunday 22nd Feb (1-3pm) or Monday 23rd Feb (9am-6pm). It should be ready to be hung in the space - please discuss fixings with the curators.

    Selling work
